Leo
Leo and Zampa are two lions arrived in La Tanière in August 2019. Declawed and castrated from an early age with the (very) lucrative aim of allowing tourists to be photographed with them on the beaches of Spain and in a nightclub, Léo & Zampa are now paying a heavy price following these illegal practices. Amputated with their claws, they struggle to grab their food, limp and multiply infections on their legs. Early castration had the effect of blocking the development of their mane and finally the photographers' flashes damaged their eyes. It is impossible under these conditions to place them in zoological parks or within a group. However, this inseparable and very playful duo has found its place in La Tanière where they are now pampered by all. All sales will go to the Refuge La Taniere
