Ghost of the Pangalanes
East Coast, Madagascar
In the still waters of the Pangalanes Canal, a lone fisherman drifts silently,
his canoe a shadow among the reflections. The morning mist hides more than it reveals,
leaving only hints — a movement, a ripple — of the life beneath.
This fleeting presence, barely there, is the ghost of the Pangalanes:
both witness and guardian of a vanishing way of life.
